A few days ago I put up a post unveiling the launch of a project I have been working on over the past few months, planning and starting to implement. What originally started out as a dark and shady idea has grown into a fully formed thought plan and in my last post I out lined what ATD Dublin is and what we intend to provide and do. If you missed it then go ahead and check it out at the link below.
This update is to outline what will happen and when it will happen over the next few months to the end of the year.
So, undertaking as big a project as this by myself is no easy task. Unlike previous websites and blogs I have had before this is far from the job of slapping up a site in one day and posting away on it, it takes careful and meticulous planning and for that reason I have decided to launch the site by a process of ‘phased roll-out.’
Now what does that actually mean? Well the overall goal is to have a site that incorporates great written and video content on news articles from each day. As I explained in the launch post this site is not about covering all news, it is about taking interesting news and presenting it in a light hearted manner but still being able to educate and inform people effectively.
Different elements of the website will be rolled out at different times, these elements include a Facebook page, Twitter page, Google+ page, YouTube channel and of course the main website you are looking at right now. I have registered a profile on each website to lay claim to those domains however not all of them will have content generated straight away. Think of this as an open beta if you will. You may also have noticed that the URL, “atddublin.com” has also been registered for here just this evening…
As of Monday 1st July 2013, ATD Dublin will start to produce written content posted to this website and we will start with three feature articles each day. On the same day the Twitter page will also go live and there will be more details on where you can get to the Twitter page on Monday morning. The plan after that is to launch the Facebook page and Google+ profile at the middle to end of August. Video content will be due to go live around the time of late October to early November and will be directly related to the feature articles on the website.
At the moment everything is to a rough time scale but there will be more concrete details in due course. One date that I can confirm is that the video content will signal the ‘full launch’ of ATD Dublin and that will happen no later than November of this year. In the meantime there is a short video collage of Dublin city I am filming which will hopefully give you guys who do not live in Dublin an idea of what it is like and I hope to have that up by mid August at the latest, ideally as soon as possible.
That’s all the news for now, the next post on Monday morning will be the first of our three featured articles for that day, of course as I have mentioned there will not be articles up every day of the week and sometimes the time of posting them may be erratic with some other work commitments however for the ‘beta’ launch there will be feature articles at least 4 days per week.
Until Monday, enjoy your weekend!
