Usually these days, more often than not applications tend to land on iOS before they do on Android as iOS tends to be the more lucrative market in terms of revenue and user base.
However US Airways has decided to go in the other direction and release onto Android first going against the grain of what other popular apps have done such as Instagram, Vine and others.
iOS users have had to and will still have to access their tickets for their flight through passbook, they will not get access to any of the features that come with the Android application.
The app does everything you would expect it to do and need it to do such as viewing tickets, accessing your Dividends mile account, itineraries and flight updates and statuses.
The airline’s long-delayed app was initially promised for late 2012 but later delayed to sometime in 2013, which doesn’t bode well for iPhone owners. Earlier this year a customer satisfaction survey of the top airlines mobile apps ranked US Airways in dead last, which makes sense since the company didn’t have an app at the time, while Southwest came out on top with an 82 out of 100 possible points.
