Blue Peter set up for auction.

LONDON – Have you ever wished that you could own a piece of TV history? Well now here is your chance, the Blue Peter set which was most recently used in 2010 is going up for auction to the public.

The auction will include the famous orange, blue and purple seating area and also a poster of Helen Skelton. The lot sale is being handled by Peaker Pattinson.

The Blue Peter totaliser which was used in a 2010 christmas card campaign along with other various fundraisers will also be up for grabs.

More than 1,200 lots are up for sale from the BBC as they get ready to move North to Salford in Manchester.

Also being sold is props from shows such as Doctor Who and Red Dwarf, plus cardboard life-sized cut-outs of Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly.

Auctioneer Elizabeth Sewell said,

‘I’m sure the cardboard cut-outs of Brucie and Tess and the Blue Peter sets will get people bidding,’ she told the Daily Mail.

‘We’re expecting interest from all over the world. It’s impossible to put a value on most of the props because they are one-offs.’

The bid for the Blue Peter set is currently at £26 pounds, but with a number of days to go in the auction that is bound to rise as more bidders come in.
