McDonald’s pony mum – her response

MANCHESTER UK – Yesterday we ran a story about a horse (turns out it was actually a pony) taking a poop on the floor in McDonald’s. Now the mother of her daughter’s pony has spoken out regarding the incident itself.

Christine McGrail claims she has taken steed Minnie for a McFlurry at the fast-food restaurant in Greater Manchester ‘loads of times’ in the past and has ‘never had a problem before’. Customers and staff at the Whitefield branch were left stunned this week when Ms McGrail’s daughter Olivia entered the restaurant with the six-year-old pony.

‘I didn’t see anyone in there who was terrified. Everyone saw the funny side.

‘I think over the last couple of years, we’ve been to that McDonald’s at least half a dozen times on the horses. ‘

The 33-year-old, who stayed outside with stallion Dancer, was initially stopped from using the restaurant’s drive-through service due to health and safety concerns.

Ms McGrail says she took managers ‘literally’ when they suggested the pair dismount and enter the store.

‘When she said: “You can’t go through the drive through but you can come into the store”, I thought “OK, we will”,’ she explained.

‘We were standing in the queue for ages without them saying anything. It was only when she did the poop, that things kicked off.’ She added: ‘I’m not sure if the manager thought we did it on purpose but we can’t control when she poops. We have no way of knowing when she will. ‘I guess it was a bit rash but I did feel angry because their policy was inconsistent and we’ve never had a problem before.’

She was handed a £90 fine for causing ‘alarm and distress’ to customers after police were called to the scene.

A McDonald’s spokesman said horse riders were not allowed to use the drive-through in the saddle due to health and safety reasons.

What do you guys think of the mothers response? Is what she is saying justified or is she just plain nuts? Let us know in the comment section below.
