Flaming heck! The world’s hottest sandwich

CHESHIRE – This is the worlds hottest chilli challenge and customers now have the chance to take it on for themselves, but could you even be able to handle it?

The ‘flaming hell sandwich’ measures 2.3 million on the Scoville heat scale which, just to give you some perspective, is hotter than pepper spray. It comes with sauce that is made from two of the worlds hottest chillis, one of which is actually 250 times hotter than jalapeño.

Staff in the shop have to wear two pairs of gloves when they are making the sandwich as exposure over prolonged times could irritate the skin. The dish itself is 400 times hotter than tabasco sauce.

Simon Nash is the creator behind this devilish delight and he firmly believes that it is the perfect cure to a hangover. I might just stick to a fry up myself to be honest rather than burning the face off myself.

‘We wanted something with a bit of oomph that would blow the cobwebs away the morning after,’ he explained.

‘Now we are getting older the head the morning after takes longer to clear. So we wanted something that would get us back to normal again and be a bit of a challenge.

He added: ‘It’s definitely not for the faint hearted though. We have been getting people coming in the morning after a night on the beer- they never finish it but it certainly wakes them up.

‘The sandwich has proved a massive hit as everyone thinks they can handle the heat but this is a new kind of hit.’

So far nobody has completed the challenge, the winner gets a free weeks supply of sandwiches if they finish under ten minutes. My bigger concern though is what happens when you sit on the toilet later. What goes in must come out…

What do you guys think about this? Would you take on the challenge? Let us know in the comments below.
